Being an Online Publisher of Text, Video and other Content

A main goal for SeaWaves is to become an online publishing/producer. It is in that vein that we’ve purchased The PopCrunch Show, an internet only TV show focusing on Celebrity News. The show has been out of production for several months, but we hope to get things hopping again in the new year. Stay tuned!

In the meantime, feel free to check out the first 25 episodes. Or start with episode 14 right here:

Expert knowledge, you can’t beat it!

One of our goals at SeaWaves is to become top-notch web publishers and to enable experts to share their knowledge with the world. With that in mind, we are pleased to point you in the direction of several expert sites that we are currently developing, and which we are proud to produce.

The first such site is called The Nurse Lady. This site is basically the writings of a school nurse professional on her experiences throughout her career. The Nurse Lady tells funny nursing stories, provides health tips and even has a knack for grossing you out (I guess that can happen when you’ve become decensitized to some of that stuff!) Very interesting writing , and not always for the lighthearted!

Another site that we’re currently developing is called The Garden Lady (notice a trend?). This site is being written by a Master Gardener (a garden expert) with a whole slew of gardening tips. One of the cool things about The Garden Lady is that she answers questions from readers. But not only does she answer them…she answers them thoroughly! Great information for the budding gardener.

I Love Blog Widgets

fox sports widgetWhat are are blog widgets? Good question! Blog widgets are little mini-apps that you can run in your WordPress sidebar to perform basic functions. Widgets make use of AJAX to allow blog owners an easy way to add and rearrange their widgets by simply dragging and dropping.

painter widgetThe key to understanding blog widgets is to just try them out. One of my favorite widget sites is Widgetoko where you can download a widget to display a daily painting in your blog sidebar or the popular Flickr Profile Widget. Widgetoko not only includes WordPress widgets, but also MySpace widgets, etc.

Another great source of WordPress widgets is the official WordPress Widget blog. While not as pretty as Widgetoko, it does include some of the best widgets out there.

flixnPerhaps the most thorough and comprehensive widget site on the net is WidgetBox. WidgetBox includes widgets for MySpace, WordPress, Typepad and more. Some of the coolest widgets at WidgetBox include daily comic strips and a complete shopping cart solution.

The Colonnade Inn

As a Sea Isle City company, we really like working with local companies. One of our clients is the The Colonnade Inn which is a large Victorian style home in the heart of Sea Isle with 19 units that are available for rent year round.

The Colonnade is really a great place to stay, especially if you are looking to stay for only a few days. They are one of the few places on the island that let you book trips for less than one week. It really is the perfect place for an off-season trip to the Jersey Shore, especially for people like college and university students and professors who may have a few days off in the middle of the week.

The great thing about the Colonnade is that they have all the amenities you could hope for including morning breakfasts. Most rooms have a Jacuzzi tub and all units feature completely free cable and wireless internet.

If you’re looking to visit the Cape May County or even the Jersey Shore, make sure to check out our home town of Sea Isle City and make sure to consider The Colonnade Inn.

One Of A Kind: Sites That Stand Out – 8/24/06

On the internet, it’s very common to come upon the same-old, same-old. Lots of duplicate content. Everyone trying to make a buck or two for free. The net is now full of junk.

But there are still gems out there. Original, high-value content hasn’t disappeared completely. But it is harder to find than ever. That’s why we’re featuring a series of posts on websites that we encounter which offer totally original, valuable content.

The first site that we’d like to feature is the Greater Reading PA Video News channel called is truly a vision of the next generation of web content. Forget Web 2.0. shows us how the internet can be used to empower and sustain local communities. Using high definition video in 5 minute long interview segments, the folks at are taking a grassroots approach to internet tv. By interviewing local Reading musicians, businesses, sports teams and even the tech-savvy mayor of Reading himself, is providing that unique local flavor to news that has gone missing for so many years.

Not only are they doing something totally original with their site, but the site owners are doing it well. That matters. This is no shoddy fly by night project. The quality of video is top notch, recorded in HD. Much better quality than sites like YouTube.

For a taste of things to come packaged up in a well executed site, be sure to check out

SeaWaves Acquires Colorteck Network

SeaWaves Technology is pleased to announce the recent acquisition of the webhosting company Colorteck Network. A Colorteck acquisition made perfect sense to SeaWaves as we look to expand our online presence and expand our customer base.

With over 300 active customers, and a variety of standard and reseller hosting plans, Colorteck is a full service webhosting company with dedicated servers at a major datacenter.

Not only does the acquisition allow SeaWaves to offer more expansive webhosting possibilities to our clients, but it also provides us with a sizable base of customers to which we can offer our highly successful web promotion services.

We are excited about the possibilities that this acquisition provides, and hope to share more about our vision in the coming months.

How I Work: Bill Gates

Quote – “I get about 100 e-mails a day. We apply filtering to keep it to that level- e-mail comes straight to me from anyone I’ve ever corresponded with, anyone from Microsoft, Intel, HP etc. And I always see a write-up from my assistant of any other e-mail, from companies that aren’t on my permission list or individuals I don’t know.”

Boy do I wish I could have an assistant who filtered through all my emails each day. But honestly, even with an assistant, I’m surprised that Gates only get 100 emails a day. That seems really low for the richest man in the world, doesn’t it.

In the article, Gates also mentions that he has to avoid the temptation of reading his email every time Outlook tells him there is a new message. Boy can I relate. If I wasn’t careful, email could take up my whole day.
